# Signature Zinger Burger

If you love spicy and crispy chicken burgers, you will love this signature zinger burger recipe. It’s inspired by the famous KFC zinger burger, but with a homemade twist. You will need signature sauce, bread crumbed chicken, and a soft sesame bun to make this delicious sandwich.

## Ingredients

– 4 boneless chicken thighs
– 1 cup buttermilk
– 2 tablespoons hot sauce
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 2 tablespoons cornstarch
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
– 1/4 teaspoon paprika
– Vegetable oil for frying
– 4 sesame seed burger buns
– Butter for spreading (optional)
– 4 tablespoons signature sauce (see below)
– Romaine lettuce leaves

## Signature Sauce

– 1/4 cup mayonnaise
– 2 tablespoons ketchup
– 1 tablespoon mustard
– 1 teaspoon white vinegar

## Directions

1. In a large bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, hot sauce, salt and pepper. Add the chicken thighs and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to overnight.
2. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, oregano, white pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika and salt. Set aside.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and vinegar. Set aside.
4. Heat about 2 inches of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. The oil should be around 350°F (177°C).
5. Take one chicken thigh out of the marinade and shake off the excess. Dredge it in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Carefully lower it into the hot oil and fry for about 10 minutes, turning once, until golden and cooked through. Drain on paper towels and repeat with the remaining chicken.
6. Cut the burger buns in half and toast them lightly. Spread some butter on the cut sides if desired.
7. To assemble the burgers, spread some signature sauce on the bottom bun. Top with a lettuce leaf and a chicken thigh. Spread some more sauce on the top bun and place it over the chicken. Repeat with the remaining buns and chicken.
8. Enjoy your signature zinger burgers while they are hot and crispy!
