Process:

– Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced) and line a baking sheet with foil.
– Take a loaf of bread (preferably crusty and white) and cut it into thick slices, about 2 cm each. Do not cut all the way through the bottom of the loaf, so that the slices are still attached.
– In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine 1/4 cup of butter, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Microwave for about 15 seconds or until the butter is melted. Stir well to combine.

– Use a pastry brush or a spoon to spread the butter mixture evenly over both sides of the bread slices, making sure to get into the crevices between them.

– Sprinkle 1/4 cup of grated cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup of grated mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese over the top of the bread slices, distributing them evenly.
– Wrap the loaf loosely in foil and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

– While the loaf is baking, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 250 g of ground beef. Cook, stirring and breaking it up with a spatula, for about 10 minutes or until browned and cooked through. Drain the excess fat and season the beef with salt, pepper and your favorite herbs and spices. You can also add some chopped onion, garlic, bell pepper or mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
– Remove the loaf from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil. Spoon the beef mixture over the top of the cheese loaf, spreading it evenly.
– Cut into slices and serve hot with some fresh salad, coleslaw, potato wedges or your favorite side dish.
